«Умная сила» России набирает обороты.

Концепция «мягкой силы» стала в настоящее время одной из самых популярных, однако в современных условиях более рациональной представляется концепция «умной силы», предполагающая сочетание инструментов силового и мягкого воздействия. Россия в последние десятилетия испытывает дефицит ресурсов формирования своей привлекательности за рубежом, поэтому ей приходится отвечать на угрозы современных мировых политических процессов, инструментами «жесткой силы». Последние события на Украине доказали, что Россия сделала правильный выбор, не ограничиваясь лишь развитием культурной привлекательности. В то же время все наработки поворота внешнеполитической стратегии на наращивание «мягкой силы» помогли ей выдержать «жесткое воздействие» западных государств.

«SMART POWER» OF RUSSIA IS GAINING MOMENTUM.

The concept of «soft power» has become one of the most popular, but in the current international environment the more rational concept is the concept of «smart power» which implies the combination of tools of both soft and hard power influence. Over the last decade Russia has been  experiencing a shortage of resources in shaping its attractiveness abroad, so it has to respond to challenges and threats of global political processes using tools of hard power. The recent events in Ukraine proved that Russia had made the right choice when it decided not to rely exclusively on boosting cultural attraction. At the same time, the groundwork it gained while the foreign policy strategy was aimed to create «soft power» helped Russia to withstand hard pressure of the Western states after the crisis in Ukraine started.
